We're moving to Kentucky in 2026!
The land we are building on has fun sentimental value to my husband. It's actually a portion of his grandfather's farm that his mom inherited after he passed over a decade ago. The plot of land that she inherited connects to their house, so we are able to build across the field from them.
We've been living in Nevada for over 13 years now, but my husband has always had a lingering wish to return home at some point. After having kids and seeing how much they enjoy playing with their cousins back in Kentucky, when the offer came from his mom to build on this land, we decided it was time and too good of an offer to pass up.
My husband's parents generously gifted us acreage to allow us both to return to rural living, as I, myself, grew up amongst forests and fields.
I was the one who had to be convinced to move since Kentucky is not my home (then again, neither is Nevada), but once I saw the pond and creeks running through this portion of the land on offer, I couldn't resist.
So, in August 2023, we officially decided to start saving to build our dream (and hopefully forever) home...
